Free guide / Working across tools

Use one assistant to brief another

Use a second tool when it adds a needed capability, such as image editing. A clear handoff saves you from explaining the project again.

The guide is free; the tool feature you use may depend on your account. Open a tool’s introduction for the relevant capabilities and source documentation.

From idea to a useful result

  1. Use the first assistant to clarify the audience, output and constraints.
  2. Copy only the checked brief and necessary source material into the second tool. Conversations and attachments do not transfer automatically.
  3. Compare the final result with the brief. A second model is another worker, not independent proof that the first answer was correct.

Try this

Prepare a handoff brief for an image editor. Goal: a square image of my real blue ceramic mug on a warm neutral background for a small shop. Preserve the exact product and logo. No text on the image. Include objective, supplied asset, permitted changes, details to preserve and acceptance checks. Do not invent a campaign performance claim.

What a useful result looks like

Objective: make the supplied mug easy to see in a square catalog image. Asset: the user’s mug photo. Change: background and lighting only. Preserve: blue color, handle, shape and logo. Acceptance: side-by-side product match, no extra text, no clipping of the product. Attach the original photo in the second tool along with this brief.

Check the result

Use one assistant if it can already produce a satisfactory result. Adding a handoff is useful only when the second tool contributes something you need.

Original illustrative teaching case. No external model run or product performance comparison is claimed.
